User Data Format

Working in progress

User data is stored under xmcl data directory.

The file includes:

• User ID
• Username
• User role information (name, skin, cape)
• Registered third-party service information.

Offline User

The data storage for offline users is quite special, and the id for offline users is fixed as OFFLINE:

Storage of AccessToken

XMCL use keytar to store accessToken in the password manager of the current system.

Different systems will use different services for storage:

Windows

Credential Manager

macOS

Keychain

Linux

libsecret or Secret Service API

The launcher will store it according to the service and account as keys, such as the user id above.
